Skating into Gold with team USA’s sled hockey Gold medal winner Rico Roman

With less than 60 days to go to the opening ceremony of the 2018 winter Paralympics in PyeongChang, South Korea, I interview a member of the team that won a gold medal at the 2014 Sochi paraympics for sled hockey, and of course I’m speaking of the one and only Rico Roman. 

Rico and I talk about his upbringing, military service, his rehab after losing his leg, training to be an adaptive athlete, his journey into becoming one of the best at sled hockey, his experiences at the 2014 Sochi Paralympics, and of course his thoughts going into PyeongChang to reclaim gold for team USA.

The never ending pursuit of greatness with Paralympic bronze medalist rower Rob Jones

We are starting 2018 with a hell of an interview, and of course I’m talking about the motivating 2012 London Paralympics Rowing Bronze medal winner in mixed doubles Rob Jones.

Rob and I talk about what kind of attitude is needed to win a medal at the highest level of competition at the Paralympics, the training needed to get there, and how his competitive spirit drove him to give back to his community by undertaking on a couple of unimaginable challenges that saw him ride his bike across the country, and most recently run 31 marathons in 31 days…  Yes that is correct, 31 marathons in 31 days.

Re-Starting lives with The Wood River Ability Program director Marc Mast

In this episode I speak with Marc Mast, Marc is the director of the Wood River Ability Program in Sun Valley Idaho.  The Mission of The Wood River Ability Program is to promote physical and mental health for persons with disabilities through sports and recreation.  Marc and his program have helped many disabled people reach the top of competitive disabled sports and rehabilitation including me.  We talk about how he got started, what drives him to do it, and we reminisce how he helped me back in the day.
